Export To Excel

Recommended Posts

Would it be possible to allow an "export to excel" or "csv" function. I enjoy plotting the many data-related aspects of my life in statistics software and this would greatly assist! Thank you!

You can already do this...

Look in the bottom right of your query. (Your Username and/or Computer ID must match for the export link to appear.)

Also, if you want to, you can actually refine your search down the way you want it... then export what you need.

For instance, if I searched for the last 7 days, upload tests only...

  1. First click on 'your stats'
    post-2-0-97817000-1303800410_thumb.png
  2. Narrow down to 7 days...
    post-2-0-88935100-1303800409_thumb.png
  3. Clicking the up/down arrow in the results will narrow down by type.
    post-2-0-82337000-1303800496_thumb.png
  4. The click export at the bottom..

Once you get your CSV you can manipulate it yourself from there. :-D

Mind = Blown

Thanks ;)

I know , he's like that, sneaks in features that we don't know we need yet , then when we do he's there to point them out . Wild

One of my next tasks coming up will be making some videos. A few quick videos outlining how I personally use the site. I'm sure there are a ton of features that you guys haven't even realized are there yet.

Yeah, sorry I haven't been letting you guys know about every little thing. As I said in a previous post, I'd rather spend my time building instead of talking about what I've built. ... 'Cept right now, I'm on a little break. :-)

Oh... and the export feature has been here for like 5 years. But I have made it recently work better.

That is an awesome feature!

Now let´s take it one step further:

I´d like to be able to export the average speeds tested by everyone for my type of connection (50k) in the whole region (i.e. my city).

That would enable me to make statistics about the best time to get full speed in the week and for every day. I´m really interested in which day and time gives the best results.

Thx in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion.  I could make it easier for you and just give you the ability to aggregate results across 24 hours.  I may be able to whip something like that together in a couple hours.

Average speed aggregated by hour of day.

Here's Vodaphone DSL as a whole...  All numbers in Mbps.  Keep in mind that I can't differentiate between your providers packages.

Your detected city is Alzenau DE.  There aren't enough results to make an accurate plot.  So I'm looking to Frankfurt DE.  The largest city close to you.

Thought I'd just get you the numbers for now.  Hope this helps.  I'll give you the ability to run these queries yourself and plot it out on graphs with the next major database release.

Dude, you are seriously awesome! That was quick and uncomplicated!

Thanks!  If you want to really thank me please share TMN with your friends.  :headbang:

Those are the avg numbers sorted by time for every day of the week in a whole, right?

I´ll have enough numbers to work with for now :)

Thank you very much!

Yes, that's all days combined.  We can also aggregate days of the week... and break the days down by hour too.  Great idea.

I already do :) You deserve it! And Frankfurt is actually closer than this "Atzenau" (I never heared of)^^

That would be exactly what I´ve been looking for. It´ll be a lot of work for me, but I love doing such stuff. Kinda geeky hobby of mine...

You'll fit in perfectly here.  I'll work on that function for you.

Sorry it doesn't detect your city better, uses GeoIP.  Less accurate at the city level in some regions.  According to MaxMind (TMN uses MaxMind databases) 17% are incorrectly resolved in Germany.  Usually when it's incorrect it will resolve a city >50 miles away.

I threw a sloppy graph for my provider together, if you´re interested. It seconds my feel about the speed/daytime. But the night surprised me. It was worth while. I´m interested in the results for the whole week day by day now. Maybe there are more surprises :)

Have a nice we!

Internetspeed.xlsx

Very nice, remember however, 0 in my results is the first hour of the day.. not the 24th.   ... programmers logic.
