Actually having problems today with Cox.net

CA3LE

Recommended Posts

I've been running so good for so long... Here's my results today, https://testmy.net/stats/?&t=u&d=05192011&x=1&l=25&q=CA3LE

I always cross reference the competition when I have a chance.

TestMy.net and DSLReports.com spotted the problem for sure. But not speedtest.net...

Server close to me...

... or far away

speedtest.net just didn't notice anything.

... and I'm definitely having an issue

Curios,

What do you get from here http://speedtest.dal01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip and here http://208.115.252.42/speedtest/test500.zip

The second one is on a 1000 Mbps connection, I'm not sure what the first one is on I just know it gets used a lot.

post-2-0-55155900-1305749196_thumb.png

First one was fast... pretty much off the bat. Second link fluctuated wildly at the start, dropped to about 600Kb/s the throttled up slowly, ending at about 5MB/s

... I'm not worried about the problem, Cox usually takes care of it without customer intervention. I just wanted to mention this because I'm pretty sure that it's not just me...

Pull Cox Test History and display the last 500 or 1000 results and you'll quickly see what I'm saying ;)

(see the dip at the beginning of the graph)

Do the same with another fast host like Comcast and you'll see that it's not as if this is a site-wide issue either.

post-2-0-56505700-1305749672_thumb.png

It's a routing issue I'm sure... I'm not seeing bad speeds everywhere, just lots of places :-P

(I'm secretly trying to teach you guys how to use this stuff :evil6: )

Ca3le,

Did it recover for you yet? It's still off for me and I'm not using Cox. It should be around 11.5 Mbps.
