(er, whn it works..) anywho, it's loads better than dialup, if you have the cash. otherwise look for a wireless provider! Rual electric companies often offer tv&Net through a ground 2 ground dish.. Why? because I also suffer with 56k and have invested alot of time tweaking to get the most I can out of it...not easy...LOL Dude, am I reading this right? Are you going thru---> a PoP server? For Dial-up, this is really a "bad" thing... Also, do you have or can you enable MPPC stac compression? This helps tremendously when it comes to your dial-up speeds... I know...I'm stuck using dial-up as well, but your speed is half that of mine... What program are you using for "tweaking" your internet settings....or are you... If not, then post back and I'll see if I can help you get better speeds... To start with download CableNut...this alone increased my speed by 15%... http://www.cablenut.com/ Download this- CableNut Add On Package and this- CableNut v4.08 Make sure to read the FAQ section to answer you questions like...how to I put the setting in? cholla Posted March 15, 2005 CID Share Posted March 15, 2005 Hi MUff!N : The modem tweak really only allows more settings in the modem speed pulldown .It would help if your modem could use these faster speeds.Since the 115200 is the max before the tweak & this is recomended at several sites as a tweak this tweak allows you to set it even faster. Xp is a lot different from what I understand.I haven'tr had a XP os so I haven't tried to tweak it. Since there aren't many 56K 's here I will help if I can.
