It is sad though that when I visited The Philippine Long Distance Company in Zamboanga City I was told that my Barangay ( Zambowood) is not included in their map for improvement nor upgrading. It is hard for me as I am teaching online soon and I need to look for another area in Zamboanga City where DSL is offered and rent a house there. I hope that PLDT could address the problem that I have now so that I won't have to leave the comfort of my own home. Put Internet and telephone lines in every village near and far. Please do not disregard us for we deserve modern technology too. Being told your place is not in our map for improvement nor upgrading is sad enough as if you are being cut out from the modern world. Pgoodwin1 Posted May 25, 2015 CID Share Posted May 25, 2015 I just looked on a map. It looks like Zambowood Elementary School is only 8 km (5 miles) from Zamboanga city. Maybe you could get the school board and the local Zamboanga city government officials to put together a proposal to PLDT to include the area where the school is rather than having individuals calling the company. Approach it from the angle that the high speed Internet is required for the school to prepare children for the modern world. Pgoodwin1 Posted May 26, 2015 CID Share Posted May 26, 2015 Perhaps the town government people can offer some kind of tax break to PLDT over a long period of time to help cover their investment costs. The people might be willing to pay a small extra tax to cover that. Convince the town government people that it would help make the area more attractive for people to visit or live and be part of their long term growth plan.
