Hi Granpa ,

With my English/ Queens English " what jolly posh yah *  my slight French accent after all these years marks me out as odd  in the UK

especially  when living in London ,  either way love regional accents ,

I think there are two different way of learning. As far as spoken is concerned try as much as you can speak or communicate with the people and in doing so, whenever you find something new, note it down and keep on using it with the people. For written English try to practice, grammar, phrases, and vocabulary.
