Speed difference 10am and 8pm

Here is my result when I check my d/l speed between 10a.m and 12 a.m
10am : 43,4Mbps

10am :     43.4Mbps     5.4MB/s
3pm :       45.2Mbps     5.7MB/s 
6pm :       36.9Mbps     4.6MB/s
7pm :       18.8Mbps     2.4MB/s
9pm :       3.4Mbps       425kB/s
12am :     17.7Mbps     2.2MB/s

WHY ?

I would assume this is due to more people being home at the time , streaming music and videos.

The later in the day, more people are on the network.

Call your ISP and tell them about this. Call when it's slow. If they say there's nothing wrong, at least you get it on record that you are having trouble during parts of the day. If enough people call with a similar problem, they will probably do something. Be polite, but keep calling them.

What type of Internet connection is this? E.g. for example, VDSL, Cable, Fixed Wireless, LTE, etc.

 

If you connect to your ISP with a wireless connection, the bandwidth shared with everyone else in line of sight with the base station on that ISP.  This is similar with 3G and 4G (LTE) based connections where the cell tower bandwidth is shared amongst the customers connected to that cell tower.  In this case, the drop-off is due to contention where other users are streaming or downloading content.
