pitbull do u use hyperwrt with your router.  I to have the wrt54gs router and use hyperwrt.  Further, do you use a wireless adapter with any other system on your network.  I do and I cant explain why I get less than half my ISP download rate of 6000Kbps from Comcast.

I have don't everthing to increase the speed through cablenut/VanBuren settings to updating drivers.  Still I cant explain why I am getting such a terrible rate.  I you can help I can use it thanks.

i dont use cablenut or anything to improve my speeds. just my cable modem and router.

I just ran this without PANDA ANTI-VIRUS WITH INTERNET SECURITY

It seems to improve your download by about 1000+ kbs when disabled while running the test

It doesn't seem to affect the upload at all.

These speeds are with cablenuts tweaks applied also.

It would not be a lot less. With encryption it takes a hit of about 100 K now. I have gotten hy-gain antennas and use after market firmware on my Linksys WRT54GS. I had used a different aftermarket firmware, but I now am using, Alchemy-V1.0 v3.37.6.8s. It allows me to crank up the transmit power from my router. Before tweaking by getting the antennas and changing the firmware, encryption would lessen my d/l rate by about 250 to 500 K.

If I don't run encrypted I use a pretty mixed up SSID and do MAC filtering only allowing my laptop MAC in.
