To my own and probably others surprise, I found out of all the browsers I use and I have many for testing web site compatibility issues and such, I have found Maxthon to be the fastest for speed testing here at testmy.net and other speed test sites. The startup is a little slow when being it but when browsing or speedtest or chenaging between sites it is definitely fastest and very obviously. It is tabbed also this is good but a slight disadvantage for me as I have to many favorites in my list(s) and should put them buy individual letter rather than the groups they are in now as it goes way off screen for me in most groups lol.  10000+ is to many favorites I know but I like a lot of sites and go back to them mostly ;) I do still like FireFox and am using it right now. It used to be faster than IE dunno what happened but about 2months ago +/- ...but lno longer, now IE is faster but still not as secure :o. Unlike Firefox or IE, Maxthon does not scroll favorites down but tabs out to right side (at least I can find no setting to change this so far) and goes off my screen most of time depending on group:( Of course these are my opinions and observations only :)

Guess I'm the oddball here as I will use IE until everything shakes out.  I am not a whiz on this

gizmo anyway.  However I used Netscape til aol got their hooks in it.  Have been using IE ever

since, knock on my wooden head, but I have never had a virus, trojan or any other junk except

when I did a little ptp music.  I quit that pretty quick and don,t do chat rms or im's and only web

mail.  I do have norton 2003 av and sygate free firewall, winpatrol,qwik-fix and spybot s&d.

I sure hope I haven't jinxed myself.  :D :D :D :D

phlip: I guess oddball great minds work alike!!!!!!!  :)

I have been using Free PU stopper for years.  If you haven't

tried winpatrol, check it out.  I love it as a duffer, it

tells me a lot and explains it easily.  Then expounds on the

expl.for 10 bucks a year.  I would have a Tx hissy if

someone tried to take it away.

I guess you can decide for yourselves:

From Secunia.com

IE

30% of Vulnerabilities remain unpatched

41% of reported vulnerabilities were "Highly" or "Extremely" critical.

http://secunia.com/product/11/

FF

36% of Vulnerabilities remain unpatched

7% of reported vulnerabilities were "Highly" or "Extremely" critical.

http://secunia.com/product/4227/

Opera

0% of Vulnerabilities remain unpatched

12% of reported vulnerabilities were "Highly" or "Extremely" critical.

Altho i like Firefox, and now opera, oddly.... i still think the "best" is and always will be IE.

Gotta agree. Does anyone know how to get on the Internet to download another browser if they don't use IE in the first place?  :haha:

I use Chakra Browser to surf the web, I use FireFox or K-Meleon for surf the interactive websites. I also use another browsers like Internet Explorer, Avant Browser and Acoo Browsers....

Sometime I also use Internet Explorer, Avant Browser and Acoo Browser. To save my surfing time, I run ChProxy that enable me to catch all web pages I surfed, so I don't have to save webpages again and again. I can concentrate on my journey to internet...ChProxy will do the rest for me.

If I found such domain that interisting to me, I use ChGrabber to grab the domain.

Chakra, ChProxy, and ChGrabber is created by Quick4All.com. On Chakra environment, there is no different between online or offline, dynamic pages or static pages. All three products use the same databases. The simple way to download them all is download the Chakra Jumbo Edition.

Best Regards,

Basuki
