Went up a tiny bit :P... Also I am running Regular High Speed (Lite High speed had my downloads clocking at around 10 kb/s which was beyond pathetic)

I did what you said, so unfortunately that did not work.

hey dorian246 :)

do you have a router?

if so bypass it and connect your PC direct to modem via ethernet

from your tweaktest

"Ping stability:

97 109 139 181 175 145 115 139 163 187"

thats very unstable and thats what slowing you down

if bypassing dosent help, change the LAN cable from your PC to modem

do you have any splitters?

VanBuren :)

I'm having a similar issue. I hope you guys can help.

1. Windows XP Pro SP2 with the P2P Patch.

2.My provider is Shaw Cable and the advertised speed is up to 5 mb

3. I installed CableNut and tried the files recommended in this thread. I also tried the settings described in here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6414.0;attach=2922;image

I just formated my HDD last night so I'm pretty sure my PC is not the problem. I'm using a Linksys Router, tried to connect the modem directly to the PC and I get the same results.

Any help will be much appreciated!

You'd want to get an antivirus, you can find links to free ones in the sticky.

For cablenut, get the program here: www.cablenut.com

Then open the zip file you specified, or version 8, and extract the .ccs file that is closest to your connection speeds to the desktop.  With the cablenut adjuster window open, open the .ccs file, click save to registry, reboot PC and retest.

I tried 2 different settings files from the ZIP (Cable/DSL 4000/512 and 4000/256) and it got worst:

Your connection is:  1029  Kbps      (about 1 Mbps)

You downloaded at: 126 kB/s

Your TRuSPEED: ^info^ 1101 Kbps :: 135 kB/s (7% overhead factored)

Bottom Line: You are running: 18 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 8.13 second(s)

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 38.48 % of your hosts average (shawcable.net)

http://www.broadbandreports.com/tweakr/block:38c2946?service=cable&speed=3000&os=winXP&via=normal

Maybe I used the incorrect file?

Thanks!

P.S. I'll get the antivirus, I just want to set the Internet correctly before I start loading programs.
