Can anyone help me out installing my old Linksys Wireless - G Router. Verizon tech had to install the D-Link. You dont have to be too descriptive as i should already know how to install it.

My upload stays at .8 too

  • 2 weeks later...

those are really nice speed their digging and installing the wires, which will take 2 months...I live in stafford, virginia, i wouldn't mind the 30/5 but what could you use that bandwidth for unless downloading a bunch of movies or something...i would go with the static ip 15/5 plan

An easy way to avoid messing with the Dlink would be to disable Routing/NAT and the DHCP sever in the Linksys. Then connect an LAN port on the Dlink to a LAN port on the Linksys. Effectively making the Linksys a simple switch and allowing your G wireless to function.  The supplied Dlink will continue the PPPoE, Nat/routing, local DHCP functions. I understand Verizon is pretty picky about the supplied Dlink remaining in place. Good Luck, and Congrats !  :D

yes, it is a beautiful thing cause we didnt even have dsl out here all we had was dial up and DirecWay, and i've had DirecWay for 2 months and now fios is coming  :haha: i've heard a lot of port 80 blocked what do you use that port for anyways?

port 80 is http web access... like if you were hosting your own website... there's ways around that of course, but not all are good ;)

for some reason my upload has never gone above .8 on this site. On other sites my upload is usually 1.82. I read about why the upload speed might not be accurate on this site for upload speeds offered by verizon fios but others have gotten accurate scores on this site so i was wondering why this happens to me? anyone?
