It was 6:40 PM CDT when I got the following :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 265 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 32 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main) Test Time:: Mon May 23 18:39:50 CDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 5X faster than 56K 1MB download in 32 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 32.16 % of your hosts average (direcpc.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-RPUF5XM4B Things will only get slower until about 11:00 PM. Between 8:00 and 10:00, my download speeds will drop to 130 - 150 Kb/s. The fastest I've ever seen during a mid-morning slack time was 998. I am running W98 SE. I have made all of Direcway's suggested tweaks. I have also made the Rev's tweaks (which did nothing). Any advice on speeding things up would be greatly appreciated.
