I have the verizon online dsl and supposedly the 3000/768 package, at least thats what they told me over the phone.  They gave me the Westell VersaLink modem and I am running Windows XP SP2.  I run it through a NIC.  These are the speeds I am getting (this was actually the highest I have gotten usually it is about 1300 - 1400 Kbps):

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 1501 Kbps about 1.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 183 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1)

Test Time:: Sat Jun 4 11:44:53 EDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 27X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.6 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 46.67 % of your hosts average (verizon.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-PDLBNRUM3

:::.. Upload Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 256 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Upload Speed is:: 31 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Sat Jun 4 11:50:00 EDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 5X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 33.03 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 54.47 % of your hosts average (verizon.net)

You should call them again and tell them to upgrade your plan to that package, because it looks like you running at the old package!  I told them to upgrade me and they did it right away!  Try this test: http://infospeed.verizon.net/  It also might be  your computer has a lot of spam or different type of garbage.  Go to download.com and download spybot and adaware.  Really good programs. Everytime I see my connection going slow I run them and clean my computer and my speed comes back.  The Highest speed I got was 3100 Kbps  (3.1Mbps)    Good Luck! and call them back if you have to! :D
