Fios stands for Fiber Optic System. You can't upgrade to it unless they have laid fiber optic cable in your area. If they had, you would probably know it. There would have been allot of Verizon trucks doing allot of digging in your area. You should call them and find out if they are moving into your area any time soon. In my case it was about 2 months from the time I saw activity in my neighborhood to the time I got hooked up on the service. I also got a note on my door the week before they started digging to let me know that they would be trashing my lawn but would fix it after they were finished.
