I located in columbia s.c. so you don't think there's nothing to do with router? It used to be connected through router but now it's directly connected from cable modem -> my PC. I think there something in my router was blocking the speed.. But not for sure.. All i know is after I directly connect from cable modem -> PC.. that/s when speed jumped amazinly

I might as well try to directly connect again and see what I get :haha:

Anyway enjoy those amazing speeds ;)

That is a very amazing RR premium speed.  Are you running any internet optimizers?  Also, what modem do you have?  That's by far the fastest RR speed I've ever seen.

Here is my story,

I've been had road runner service for about 4 yrs now. I was never disappointed with my regular road runner service, It was always fast enough for me but one day, I was just randomly surfing web and landed on www.sc.rr.com and they were offering new service called 'premium' which they advertise twice faster than what I had for $35. It was really tempting, It's not like my connection was slow or anything but I decide to try it for month and see how fast it premium is.. Well, RR told me that It's activate now and you should tell difference and told me to test on couple sites.. At First, It was BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.. I couldn't tell any difference than my regular service.. I download couple random file well maybe it was little fast but nothing closed to 8MBIT as what they offering. I calld RR back and explained there's not much different and they asked me what kind modem I have and I told them that I have old TOSHIBA modem that RR installed on my computer about 4 yrs ago. Road Runner tech support told me that my modem is way too old to support premium service and they offered me decent TOSHIBA modem aka PCX 2500 so next day I went to Time Warner and got my new PCX2500. I rushed into my house and installed and test couple bandwidth test from testmy.net. I finally getting improvement. I believe I was getting about 650Kbps. It was still slower than what road runner advertised but I was ok wit it. After few days later I post the thread on here asking help from VAN BURDEN. He replied back few hours later and told me about speedguide.net registry tweaks and also sent me a cablenut tweak files. After all those tweaks from VAN. Connection greatly improved to 920Kbps.. I believe VAN or RR told me to try connect modem directly into your computer (not passing through router) and disable firewall, virus scan..etc and see what happenes.. I was able to test with firewall off but I never took my wireless router out because my brother had laptop and he was using wireless internet so I never really run test without the router... Well, My brother left U.S to visit home country month ago and I no longer using wireless router and also recently, My girl friend's computer won't receive any signal from her router at home so I told her to take my router out and told her to test it.. then after that I immediately ran test and got over twice improved result.. and that's how this thread got started first place because I was so in shocked and couldn't believe how not passing through router could increase my speed.. Sorry about my long story with road runner.. but that's what really went down and It still fast as last night... I just hope I get same speed but I still want to find out that does my connection gotten faster because of I took the router out? or It could be something else? I know for sure now, It's not the cached test.. If someone has explaination I would appericiated.

Sounds good.  It might be that it is only a temporary thing, maybe some work being done locally.  I doubt that it is a permanent speed but you may have it for a while.  Enjoy it while you can I guess, and it ain't broke so don't try to fix it, ya know?  :ar15:

haha.. Hopefully It's permanent! :) If it's only a temporary, I rather not want it because It's really hard going back from super fast to just fast... ya know.. I originally planned to subscribe premium for only 1 month since cost me $85 / mo but addicted to premium speed..lol
