Faster??!!

hello everybody!

i have been using dsl now for a few years, and just now started to upgrade to the new faster speed privided by SBC Yahoo Dsl. i am currently on the Pro package which is advertised at 3Mbs (download) and 512 (upload). i would like to know if yall can tweak my system to make it as fast as the one advertised. i am running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. i have installed your cablenut program but i dont know what to do with it. Heres my speed:

i have clean my system from all know spyware and malware, and have ran norton many times to chekc if there was any virus. can anyone make my speed faster?! i chekc the van buren version six folder for the cablenut porgram but i dont know which one to pick, plus i can seem to find a sietting for 3mbs and 512 upload. - thnxs

As a fellow dsl user with xp I discoverd by many trial and error trying to tweak dsl with xp for the most part is just a bad Idea. No clue why but xp is pretty tweaked for dsl. Im not saying its not possible just stateing some facts. Before you mess make sure you back up your registry settings. For what its worth I wouldnt do it. But if you still decide to try to tweak save your settings. Just my 2 cents.

hey lilaznhobo, just wanted to know how far you are from your dsl substation? Because i just upgraded to the pro package and getting only 1.6 whereas you are getting 2.5 which is pretty good in my opinion, also what kind of modem you are using. thanks

just got the pro package a week ago but had the express for about 2 years. i am using the speedstream 5100, the one provided by sbc when i bought the express plan. you? i still want my speed to be faster :) weird though im running the same eprcent as my express but wit just a different ratio, around the high 70%.

i live in dallas texas.i was just wodnering how did u know where your central station is and how far its away from u. van buren can u help me make a cablenut thing? cant find one wit 3mbs down and 512 up. -mucho gracias

LilAznHobo & technoia I've used the dslreports test before.It shows my distance at 16500 feet

But I called my phone company & they say my line is 26600 feet  to far for dsl.I beleive the phone company gave me the correct distance.So I would call the phone company that your dsl service will run through & find out the distance they say it is.
