Lantom Posted June 28, 2005 CID Share Posted June 28, 2005 Hey: does anyone know why my COX speed is all over the damn place. I can test and in ten minutes I can get anything from 1mps to 9 mps. I can't figure why. I have tried going direct from modem to comp with no luck, I've also downloaded VB's settings and tried many, still tons of vairiation. my average is about half of rated. HELP!!! Lantom Posted June 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted June 28, 2005 Hey Van, thanks for the reply. Yes I run a router, but I did bypass everything and ran direct from the cable modem. Things are no better or worse when I go to router. The funny thing is that the consistency is now crap. When I was on the 5mps I would see 3-5 99% of the time. Now with the 9mps I see 1-9 with most of it at the 4-5 range. Why the big drop to 1mps and should I be calling cox? Does cox have an online test that i should try? Lance It could be that, I had D-Link DCM-202 when they upgraded to the 9meg down and 1meg up for Premier Customers. I had that issue my download fluctuated all the time and my upload was always at 800Kbps.
