Hey Guys,

I am scheduled for my Fios install on July 12th. My computer is ready for everything but my dads new laptop doesnt come in for two weeks. My dad uses an old dell that is about 4 years old and only has a 56 k modem installed. Can I technically use my phone line that is connected to the ONT and surf the web while, I use my Fios connection.

Short answer. No.

Long answer: f*** no.

:D

merely because of the sheer bandwidth capabilities that FiOS provides using a 56k modem would NOT be applicable.

I think it would explode from all the download pipey...umm goodness. and the upload pie-like tasty...ness....

sorry i've been up for 48hrs straight dealing with on duty customers and off duty friend questions..my brain ummm opposite feels good.

BAD! that's it....negative good!....stupid squishy grey matter. be more smarter like!

:(

blah!

If he is using a dial-up service, yes.

Otherwise no. You can't connect a 56k modem to a broadband line.
