bk Posted July 8, 2005 CID Share Posted July 8, 2005 hi, i had FiOS 'installed', but was not on site, so they did not connect my router/hub. when i did, and re-initialized by router (selected PPoE), none of my PCs can see the net, but my MaC can! obviously the connection is activated...any ideas why none of my 4 PCs (all Dells; different hw/sw; anti-virus sw inactivated) can connect? my wife is about to kill me, so any suggestions are welcome/appreciated. bk Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even though they are the same company (Verizon), they're 2 different technologies. I think FIOS uses PPoE to verify that you're a paying customer, since you don't use a modem with it. An FYI if your referring to VERIZON DSL it's ~ 50/50, Old ex-BA is PPPoE, Old ex-GTE is DHCP, Caveat SOME of the Newest DSL enabled ex-GTE areas are Rumored to be PPPoE.
