My advertised speed is 3000/768  and  its with Verizon.  I need the setting for that  speed  .

what is my value for  MSS    . I have PPPoE  and it is directly connected to the internet through the modem.  I do not have a router.

have you tried the 3000/768 from MSS 1440 folder?

if not do that, if that dosent work try this attached file

notice that everytime you load new settings, you need to click save to registry in cablenut and reboot your PC

It  was  SP2  that  was  causing my  internet  to go slow.

here is my  current  speed

I did  because  it  was  going sluggish  even  when I had  0 viruses  0 spyware  0 adware and firewall  plus. But now  its  at the advertised  speed for  verizon  but is  .5Mbps short of  average verizon.net speed  which  is  close to 3.5Mbps.  I guess  when I downloaded  SP2  in place of SP1  , it  caused the problem. So  if  you have  Windows XP with SP2  already installed on the disk from Microsoft  , then it will work.
