Hi All !

I was just wandering about my speed that I get from comcast. I'm currently on their 4Mbps plan and when I run the test from this site  here are the results.

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 1264 Kbps about 1.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

Download Speed is:: 154 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Wed Jul 20 19:28:34 PDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 23X faster than 56K 1MB download in 6.65 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 34.75 % of your hosts average (comcast.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-9SOXA53LR

I also installed the cablenut software and applied the Cable settings. and the above results are the same.

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. direct connection no routers involved.

Thanks, Z

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I went to the properties like you told me and I do not have the media type menu. all i have is this:

Early Tx Threshold is set to 4

Link Down Power Saving - Disabled

Link Speed/Duplex Mode - 100 Full Mode

Network Address - Not Present

Receive Buffer Size - 64K bytes

WakeUp on ARP/PING - Enable

WakeUp on Link Change - Disable

WakeUp using APM Mode - Disable

So any more suggestions ??? Tried calling comcast and it's pointless, they say in their disclosures they do not gurantee the speed, but can only try to provide the service and I don't want to talk to them anymore, seems like they are all following the same stupid script. (No offence to anyone working there) Any more suggestions ?
