I pay 53 US for 6/768.........and would gladly pay the extra 22 US for vanBurens connection.

So let me figure this out...

between Detroit, Michigan, United States and Stockholm, Sweden, as the crow flies:

4122 miles (6634 km) (3582 nautical miles)

Initial heading from Detroit to Stockholm:

northeast (35.5 degrees)

Initial heading from Stockholm to Detroit:

west-northwest (302.8 degrees)

Well that would only be 21,764,160 Feet of cable.

Crap! ..........I guess that won't be very economical to run a cable there........ :haha:

I look back when I had DialUp running @ about 5KB's compared to what I have now, I have seen true downloads in excess of 800KB's and it blows me away!

Then I see results like yours, and I just can't imagine what it would be like 15 to 20 times faster than that.

I read something  probably about a year ago that they were testing power companies, and running broadband through power lines up to 200Mbps, and I thought that sounded so cool because everybody has power in their house already.

It seems like it would be so economical and these power companies would be jumping all over that technology, but it seems like that idea just died or something.

But they'll get there some day I guess. ;)

http://www.bredband.com/portal/FORETAG_INTERNETACCESS

that is the website for Van's ISP, who I really dislike.

I could uncap my Cable Modem, which is illegal and very had to do anymore, but as far as I know, my cable system is still a 38/5 line, so therefore, if I uncapped the modem by changing the config file, I wouldn't get close to that. Point being goes to show how far current cable is, except in some reas, behind other broadband in the rest of the world.
