well I have mediacom cable in cedar rapids IA and advertised speeds I think are 3000/256 download and upload respectively. Anyway here are my stats from the speed test:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 2109 Kbps about 2.1 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Download Speed is:: 257 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Wed Jul 27 09:39:53 CDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 38X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.98 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 64.24 % of your hosts average (mchsi.com)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-BSIGR2530

I downloaded cable nut already, know all I need to know is if my speed can be improved with some tweaking.and if so what settings should I use.

P.S. also downloaded vanburens upgrades.

thanks

First, click here and read on. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097 Then you can download vans cablenut settings and scan through them to find closest settings compared to your isp's advertised speed. Then, apply the settings...reboot and test. Post your results. Try a couple different settings until you find the best setup.  Remember to turn off your firewall and antivirus when you test.  :D
