If your interested thats Cox Communication Fairfax VA Premier Account. I do have a slight problem which is i only get speeds like that 1/5 of the time. Otherwise i usually get .8 Mbps! Anybody know what could possibly cause this huge gap decrease. I will get slow speeds .8 - 1.3 Mbps for the biggest part of the time and then every other day for about 5-6 hours i will get speeds such as what i posted above, 5.6Mbps

I must say it isnt a issue with this site because at those time which my connecetion is running incredibly slow i find it very difficult to play online gaming and page loads are very very slow. I have talked to about 20+ cox techs and they all seem to have a different way of telling me that there is nothing they can do except send out a tech to my house in which he never showed up today! I love cox!

One thing i've noticed, having cable since 1999 (mediaone; now RCN)

is ridiculous inconsistency of speeds such as you are getting on Cox;

As more & more users switch to these already saturated ISP's, we speedfreaks will suffer the result which i believe is Prime-Time throttling of line speed...Although downloading at 4.9mb is still fun at 3:30 a.m. :D

tech finally came and found out the end of the coaxical connector was damaged. The electrical foam was not level and therefore made a signal loss. What the heck am i talking about i dont know but hey its what he said. Well anyways i still dont reach speeds anywhere to as close as i posted above and it seems that my new "normal" speed as of now is about 2.5-3.5Mbps. The reason i post this was because i find it really helps to see the problem and solution to problems like this if you have the same issue yourself.

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 690 Kbps about 0.7 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)

Download Speed is:: 84 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

These were done right after one another and i dont understand why the major difference. This thread has become a tech problem if you wouldnt mind moving it to the correct forum. If it is ok here than thats fine too. Anybody can explain? These tests were run on two different computers to insure they are correct and each computer was connected one at a time.
