Hi,

Before tweaking my download speed connection with cablenut I only achieved 26% of the adverised download speed by my ISP (sympatico.ca), and my upload speed is fine even better then my ISP's average speed. However after I tweaked the speed with cablenut, in order to try to increase my download speed. I only got 35% of the advertised download sped by my ISP. I also followed few of the guides here on the fourm. Any help greatly appreciated.

Here are my specs:

OS: Windows XP Professional SP2

CPU: Inteal Pentium 4 1.6 GHz

RAM: 512 MB DDR

ISP: Sympatico.ca

Advertised speed: 3000/380

Modem: SpeedStream

Router: D-Link DI 604

Here are my after results:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 599 Kbps about 0.6 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Download Speed is:: 73 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Fri Aug 5 11:44:13 EDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 11X faster than 56K 1MB download in 14.03 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 35.03 % of your hosts average (sympatico.ca)

:::.. Upload Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 443 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Upload Speed is:: 54 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Fri Aug 5 11:43:14 EDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 8X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 18.96 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 29.91 % faster than the average for host (sympatico.ca)

try bypassing that router, connect your PC direct to modem and make a  new tweaktest

this is what i found in that test

RTT min:                51.4 ms

RTT max:              861.1 ms

RTT avg:              251.0 ms

my guess is that you have a huge problem with router or your modem loosing sync

I tried by passing the router, and connecting directly through the router, but it seems that made my dl speed even worse. Right now I'm getting around 950 kbps dl speed (with the router), even though the advertised speed is 3000kbps.

i think you need to call your ISP and let them check modem signals
