question about a model and speed

yea hi i have a friend who is running the 6 meg package but cant get higher than 4.8 but he is on the modem dcm315. so i was wondering if ne1 could tell me how high those modems can handle speed wise. thank you

if he is renting the modem from Comcast, tell him to call Comcast and tell them to exchange the modem he has (RCA) to a Motorola Cable modem

Yea that should help. I had to get a new modem because when comcast gets the upgrade I wouldnt be able to get the best out of my connection with my old modem so i had to get a new one.  I got a new linksys myself.

when i had my linksys modem at the beginning when i bought it, it was pretty great, after colse to a year that i had it speesd DROP real bad

From what I read it shouldn't have a problem, but in the real world it's hard to tell.

I have a SB5120 and have no problem with it.
