find out who manufactured ur NIC Card and what model it is. Then go to control panel - perfomance and maintenance - system - click the hardware tab - and click the device manager. click the + sign on the network adapters and then the driver tab then uninstall driver. Make sure you have already down loaded your new driver first cuz you will lose ur internet untill you install the new driver.

Also check your cable connections on the router, and do a firmware update on the router also. you should see something about that on the router set up web page your owners manual will tell you how to do that.

by the way kamikaze3e  welcome to the forum. :)

its your NIC card, if you recieve that with wireless then there is something wrong with your NIC Card. Follow these steps on your wired computer.:

Go to Start>Control Panel>Right Click on Local Area Connection>Properties

On the properties menu you should see somehting that says something like Fast Ethernet Adapter or Ethernet Connector or something with a configure button beside it. Click the configure button. then go to Advaned on the menu that comes up and find Connection Type(maybe different on yours) but the drop down menu has options in it like 10Mbps(T) Half Duplex 100Mbps(Tx) Full Duplex wiht a few more. make sure that the setting in the box is 100Mbps(Tx) Full Duplex. Try that and see how it works for ya

Hmm well where do i get another NIC card? :?:

Best Buy, CompUSA, (insert name of computer/electronics store here). They'll have plenty of network cards.

oh and also i recieve way more bytes or whatever than i send... is this part of the problem or is this normal?

Well usually people download (recieve) more than they upload, so that looks normal.

I had these same problems for the last 2 weeks and have finally resolved them.

1. Update Drivers for your NIC

2. Update Firmware for your router

3. Get a nice new Cat 6 cable

4. For duplex i recommend if possible to set it on auto instead of 100 full duplex. Auto is much faster for me when used.

After doing all this my speed has also gone up from around 3780 kb/s to almost 4200 kb/s

Do all those before replacing your card or router because doing all this first is much cheaper than either.
