I have a question, you state your not on a PRO plan in one of your posts back on Page 4 of this topic, yet your signature says you are on a pro plan and on another post you say your paying $80 a month! so what is it?

Also, why does most of your speed posts not contain a validation link?

Just curious.

Ok guys I have the DW4000 and tweaks, not on pro plan. Reason I do not post is when I do some people, do listen to my suggestions or call me a liar.

I have had DW4000 for over 3 years now. I tried the DW6000 and did not care for it and went back to the DW4000 a year ago and no extra charge. I did have to keep the DW6000, which I sold. Hope this helps.

My uploads are normally like that anymore.....

And yes, I am back on HUGHESNET! I kicked myself for doing it, but I had no choice.

After being a Hughesnet (grumpily barely satisified) for two years, I am starting the fight all over again to level 4 engineering.

My usual speeds were consistent after they replaced my IDU twice, and finally pointed my antenna to a different Sat.

My usual speeds averaged 900+ Down/190+ Up (Pro Package $79.99/mo)

Until two weeks ago.

My download speeds are fine. My uploads are having major uplink queuing issues (according the to advanced diagnostics table) Only in the late hours of the evening do I get my speeds up. But my job and work are during regular hours. I had good service for two years. Not now.

dslreports forum are having a lot of discussions about this as well. I think its something Hughesnet has recently done.

But like others before me, I am somewhat stuck having to get Satellite because I live in the mountains.

Figured I would bring this thread up into the modern age, lol. And these tests were taken on a drizzly cold nasty day. I hope they don't oversell the beams on this sat. before Jupiter go's online.

The new speeds with the 9000 systems. The upload limit is the same so not gonna post a test for it but the upload speeds are staying closer to plan speeds now. Rumor has it we may get to keep these speeds and the 7000 systems are soon to see an increase as well. guess it is a wait and see game now.

I'm curious, after reading the posts on this and other forums about Hughesnet speeds, what is a reasonable download speed for the Hughesnet home plan (the basic bottom tier - now 250 limit)? I have a 7000S modem, on 113 West. This is my average for 15 tests today: https://testmy.net/avg/etwx100.png Is this typical? I'd appreciate some input. Thanks.

I have to admit I don't understand Hughes or their policy. While their speeds have increased recently I thought my FAP had doubled. When the 24 hr period just ended, this is what I see on the download allowance status page. Plan allowance 1050 MB, allowance remaining 658 MB. Can anyone explain this? I am paying for 425 MB and getting 525 MB and was afraid to say anything so I stayed with it. Now they're telling me my plan is double but I'm getting 50% more. Regardless, I'm using it all.

It is a roll over feature, your bucket still fills by the same amount as always but you can bank your unused allowance up to double your normal allownace. To get 658 MB then that means you carried over 133MB from yesterday and got your daily refill of 525 MB which adds up to that 658 MB. Enjoy. They have alos been throwing around some free tokens, not sure who all is getting those but I havn't seen any yet other than my usual one a month. There is also talk about allowing tokens to roll over from month to month which would also be a nice feature but I don't know when or if it will be implemented for sure.

Thanks for the update. It sure looks like rollover. Recently I was using less of the daily allowance and getting more at the end of my day. Of course, they're not going to inform you that their policy has changed (if it has). Well, I'm enjoying what I have, especially the improved speed, after 6 years and upgrades to more improved modems. During this period, i have been promised DSL from Qwest (now CenturyLink) with frequent excuses and broken promises. Even contacted my state Senator who applied some pressure and so far I've gotten more promises which have not been kept. So as you know with only Hughes available, I'll take what I can get.

Still improving....

SMOKIN.....well for Hughesnet it is. Double checked that with a 107 MB file download and it is accurate. Hope this keeps up. I get 1250 MB I can bank up every 2 days (if I ever used it, lol) and 5 MB connection. Not broadband yet but closing on it.
