Why is it so slow?

How come I can only get around 2.8mbps DL and 1.3mbps UP to testmy.net? but on servers in cali etc i can hit 10mbit+

Try testing at a mirror close to you, make sure to turn off your FW, toolbars, etc.

His ip address isn't showing. The address you ping FROM doesn't show up in a tracert.
