Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now! Disabling refererrer headers can also help. Set the value of "network.http.sendRefererheader" to 0. This setting isn't for everyone though and not everyone will recomend it. I forget how it happened. A good way to prevent losing your bookmarks is to back them up. In Firefox: Bookmarks>>Manage Bookmarks>>Export. It will save it as an HTML bookmart file that can be easily be read and imported into another browser. Not that you'd want to leave FF. Thanks i tried it and it seems to work for me good but when i restarted and went back into about:config the settings went back to what they were......or how do i save the settings for this tweak? The config file have nothing to do with my download speed, it's just to speed up the Browser Program. (Former designer of large scale applications on large mainframe computers) Thanks again. Even though it "seems to take more time in all, i can definitely tell that they start earlier. What it seems like to me is that it removes the delay where firefox waits for info, then quickly makes all the info appear real quick, and instead takes the info as it comes. I dont know if this is good for everyone, but when i do testmy.net speed tests now, it slowed my connection from what is usually 2.9MB to only 2MB Also, how do i remove that nglayout thing from about:config?
