FromPlanetBob Posted October 5, 2005 CID Share Posted October 5, 2005 Okay, my DW7000 Professional (.98M Dish/2W Transmitter/$999) system is in along side my still working DW4000 system. Now I'm having the same slow browsing issue that many have seen. I've tracked the problem down to what seems to be their web acceleration. Multiple things alerted me to this, I was able to FTP from my webservers VERY FAST SPEEDS!, I was able to remotely connect via windows remote desktop to one of my webservers. I went to http://www.WhatIsMyIP.com, a VERY simple web page and the page would not display it's self, but the title bar would change rapidly to the title indicated in the HTML code and you could right click on the page and choose show source and you could see the webpage source right there. So basically everything else on the internet worked, except web pages. I called technical support, got transfered to level 2. They said someone would call me back in 3 to 5 buisness days, I said BullsS**T, let me talk to a supervisor. I got put on hold, the 2nd level technician came back and said they could call the NOC and have the web acceleration turned off on my account. I waited while they did that, the tech came back and I again asked for a supervisor - while waiting for a supervisor, my DW7000 reset it's self (presumably turning off web acceleration). The supervisor was an idiot. BUT, when they turned off my web acceleration, My Internet WORKS FINE! ITS FAST! Here's the stats on my DW4000 System: :::.. Because their web accelerator proxy server was broken - besides, web acceleration adds latency to a connection and degrades images. Not what I want.
