Help with DNS

Recommended Posts

On my other computer, ive been having a dns problem..i can go on websites and stuff like that but i cant connect to any service like AIM, Trillian, Yahoo, ect, and when i try to repair my connection it gives me an error saying "Error Purging DNS Resolver Cache". i have been researching this for a while and it all points to saying go the the services and make sure DNS client is enabled, and yes it is. i aslo tried resetting my router and stuff like that..

Is the DNS purging problem the reason why my aim service isnt working?

If it is, how do i fix the DNS problem?

Welcome to the forum, TheForesaken1.

Click Start, click Run, type CMD in the Open box, and then click OK.

At the command prompt, type ipconfig /flushdns, and then press ENTER. You receive the following message:

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

Type exit, and then press ENTER to close the command prompt.

You can also try disabling your firewall to see if it is blocking some components.
