rayray909: I'm suprised you are not already using Cacheman it does a lot of things RAM clear is just a small part of its features.I set it to report my RAM used on my taskbar.MPower reports CPU use on the Active window bar As well as clears RAM automatically. Most of these will also clear RAM anytime you click it in the taskbar.Unless it already has a lot available.

rayray909 :  I have had Cacheman & MPower for a while they were freeware when I got them of course that can change if a software gets popular enough.I will see if I can find them as freeware for you.My MPower is version 1.2 & my Cacheman is version 5.11 so the newer ones may be shareware .

Heres the link for Cacheman:

http://www.docsdownloads.com/Tier1/cache_man.htm  DL site

http://www.docsdownloads.com/download/cachm511.zip  Actual DL

This is a Cacheman DL from its home site it is a newer version 5.5 it lists XP as a system it is for. There is a Cacheman XP at the site also but it is shareware so it does cost.Click the products to get Cacheman.

http://www.outertech.com/index.php?_charisma_page=product&id=2 cacheman site version 5.5

MPower 1.2 seems to be for 9x/ME so I don't know if it would work in XP but here is a link just in case .

rayray909: The main thing on running 2 of them I found was setting them so 1 doesn't make the other one run when it frees up some RAM.I never free as much RAM at a time as you did. From what I have read you should let your RAM run at about 2/3 full so your OS has faster access to whats stored in RAM memory.Testing might be an exception to this it isn't for dial-up but might be with a faster connection. You might try Cacheman by itself & with Freeram xp pro instead of MPower.

MPower was developed for 9X& ME so it  might not work as well for XP.

Cacheman does a lot of things even if you don't use it to free RAM I manually set the settings I want in it instead of using the wizards in it.Did you use the older 5.11 or the newer 5.5? I'm still using the older one it works well so I'm not sure I want to try the new one but I might.
