judging from what's been happening over the weekend I'd have to agree with a few fellows in the board: time to call up onelinkpr and start bitching:

1) call them up and request them to uncap the bandwidth. that means everything, from p2p to skype (Voice over IP) and online gaming

2) request for them to provide real data about current latency (The time between initiating a request for data and the beginning of the actual data transfer.) which means they have tell you when they expect the packet loss problem to be solved.

3) ask them whether they'll be "experimenting" during the nights so as to prevent frustration during that time because the internet's messed up

4) tell them you want credit for the nights your connection has been unstable due to latency and timeout problems

:whaa: I haven't used skype in a wile ... is true that skype is blocked or something funny is happening with the program?

I just need confirmation.

*searches for gun and ready*

yes, a tech support supervisor told me skype was one of the programs being blocked in order to test customer reactions for when they launch (onelink) their own VoiP (voice over ip) service similar to Skype but one they'll charge you for.

Thats like ..... onelink block live broadcast because they want you to use their cable tv.

I will install it here to see if true .... O GOD PLZ BE BLOCKED SO I CAN HAVE A REASON TO KILL IN LIFE! lol

Still Sucks

Well all I can tell you is that i believe they are working on it, its just taking them some time, B4 I used to be bellow 1.00 mbps this are my results today....

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 10332 Kbps about 10.3 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)

Download Speed is:: 1261 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net  (main)

Test Time:: Thu Mar 2 07:57:24 UTC-0400 2006

Bottom Line:: 185X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.81 sec

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 388.51 % faster than the average for host (onelinkpr.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-X2HQLZ84N

Cant complaint about that, one thing i got to say is that I do not achieve this speed on pick hours though... so they still restricting somethings during those hours, and of course i still have problems with the port blocking issue, it seem they blocking everything throuth our cable/modem  which I suspect is one of those cablemodems with router built in features....  just my 2 cents...

I will like to give him the benefit of doubt. It is possible that Onelink by mistake uncapped all the bandwidth or he just get lucky. He need to make some more speed tests possibly with 10MB to be sure.

Anyway....in the morning I was getting around 1 MB of speed. So I guess the issues havent resolved completly, but yesterday I was able to play Halo2 without any problem. I havent played B:MC for a long time so that will be a better indicator.

Well my DNS yesterday was dead, at least from 6 pm upwards couldn't use it. Checked it this morning and at least DNS was alive again. Onelink is becoming synonymous with mediocrity.

This thread is getting pretty darn big. I am *THIS* close to going with a competitor. Anything new out there?

WTF?? I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! , MAN! ...If this is true then this is getting ridiculous , those onelink guys have to be really fuckin stupid. And what the hell is all this testing they're doing? They are doing them in live production servers that serves thousands of customers, it not a FUCKING test box, They wanna test? ok do it, but don't do it on my dollar. I really hope the people in charge at Onelink suffer something like .... like a kidney stone the size of Mt Everest.

size of Mt Everest........lol...man ur comment made me laugh.

Though I agree with ur other part of the comment, ie testing through a seperate box rather then messing the servers which are already serving thousands of subscribers. They are using our money to play around. Also...3 months+ for testing and changing....what kind of network admins they hire....high school students

i think mediocre is pushing it. they aren't that good.

thank you, onelink, for comfirming every single prejudice about puerto rico!

i guess it's time for all of you to cancel your service and go with a competitor run from the mainland. (maybe then i will get some decent speed here.)

Well I am in  the Bayamon area and since yesterday around 2:00 am i can't download squat through anything.I was downloading some stuff through my newsgroups server and the connections to the server kept timing out,but today is worse i can't even do a speed test here because the test starts and then it just sits there doing nothing.What in the hell are these Craplink @$wipes doing.:sigh: :evil:
