Hi.. yeah im still using good old 'dialup' but its all I can get

(nothing available,even satellite unless I pay someone to cut down a LOT of trees or do it myself, I just said forget it.)

Ive been trying, but I cant get a 56k/48k connection going :(

Some tests:

testmy:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 54 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

Download Speed is:: 7 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Thu Oct 13 16:29:21 CDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB download in 146.29 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 7.93 % of your hosts average (Level3.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-ROY2PDMTA

:::.. Upload Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 40 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 kB)

Upload Speed is:: 5 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Thu Oct 13 16:30:28 CDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 204.8 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 42.11 % of your hosts average (Level3.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-GAEYIXBNH

speakeasy:

Download Speed: 51 Kbps (6.4 kB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 42 Kbps (5.2 kB/sec transfer rate)

So yeah Im basicly just wondering what I can do to get my full speed? My modem is suppose to be 56/48k so I guess 48k on upload would be good, but I can only get 40k after multiple tests, and from the average site downloads run at about 6.3kB/sec until the end.. when Im assuming full speed would be about 7kB/sec.

using SBC dial service, if that matters.

I'm not so sure that you're gonna get it any better than that.  You must have really good phone lines lol.  When i was on dialup the highest connection i could get was 28.8kbps.  Looks like your pretty much at 56k.  Phone lines are capped at 53.3kbps down and usually 33.3kbps up.
