1500kbps doesnt suck that much lol. Think about it, downloading a 40MB file, and youre downloading at 180kbps. The file will download within 20 minutes (or less). Now compare that to 56K, which would take around 2 hours lol and then if you want to run a server, the download doesnt matter that much, its mostly your upload.

MUCH less than 20 minutes, I used to have that. Then got 4mb/s, and now this. I download 40MB in like 30 seconds or something :)

I don't know where you get your numbers at... but it would finish much faster than 20minutes.. ehhhhh 20 minutes is like 280Kbps or 34Kbps.

Lets see 40 MB or 40960 KB

@56Kbps or 6.8KB/s this would take 100 min or ~ 1hour 40min

@1500Kbps or 183KB/s it would only take 3min 44sec not 20 minutes

compare @ 5000Kbps (5Mbit) or 610Kbps this would blister past in only 1min and 7sec

--- not being picky, I just love math :) ~ hence the website ;-)

For being as far as sweden... you get one kick ass connection to us... too bad you have to route around the world' date=' still better than satellite routing, lol.[/quote']

yea, the numbers of hops killing my speed, latency is not much problem across atlantic ocean cos i get 8.64 Mbps against

ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64 with tiny 21 hops hehe

Damn lol

I wonder how much you pay in USD. Sounds better than the new FIOS from verizon, which is $39.99 for 5m/2m and $49.99 for 15m/2m (I cant wait until its out) *drool*

I pay around 40 USD / month for 10/10 Mbps, and if i want to upgrade to 100/100 Mbps i have to pay 37 USD more / month

but its not worth it cos the 100 Mbps service has trafficlimit 300 GB/ month and thats not much if you goin to use the bandwidth optimal.

I saw an ad today for 155mb for $7500 a month lol. YOu are one lucky bastard :P

Man thats robbing ppls money lol

If i was in US and needed a webserver that handle 155 Mbps, i would rent one in sweden instead (edit: atleast if it costs this much, i have no idea what the average cost is for a dedicated server in US) , most websites dosent need fast speed to clients, they just need the bandwidth

I have no problems with slow browsing in US sites from here.

I bet a dedicated server 155/155 Mbps in Sweden dosent cost more then 1500 to 2000 USD a month for companys

and yes i consider me lucky :)

I just wished my ISP would get rid of trafficlimit on 100 Mbps service hehe

To run a decent server with 45mbps connection would be around $99 a month. It depends on your company' date=' the servers specs, and if the company manages it or if you have to manage it. But its pretty expensive.[/quote']

I pay about 300/month 100Mbps Dual XEON dope server

This company using Song Networks giga network

quote from http://www.songnetworks.se/o.o.i.s/274

"Dedicated Wavelength is a single connection produced in Song's Nordic fibre network using modern DWDM technology. DW allows the customer for instance to quickly enter a new market with high speed bandwidth.

Song offers a transparent optical channel and monitors the incoming optical signal physically at the entry point of the network while the customer handles the network protection and monitoring of the transmission signal.

Bandwidths of 2.5 and 10 Gbit/s available

Short time to market

Transparent service - allows the customer to add SDH, IP or other technologies

Diversified paths can be offered between all the Nordic capitals (Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki) and other major Nordic cities.

The following DW services are offered:

Name:

DW2.5

Bit rate:

2.5 Gbit/s

Interface frame:

STM-16

Bearer:

OCH

Spec.

G.957

Connector:

SC/PC single

mode optical

connector

DW10

10 Gbit/s

STM-64

OCH

G.957

SC/PC single

mode optical

connector

Service Available: Several rings are built to offer DW both on a Nordic and a national basis. Network coverage in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki and to other major cities in the Nordic region.

Bandwidth and Physical Interface: The customer can choose either 2.5 Gbit/s over an STM-16 interface or 10 Gbit/s over an STM-64 interface."

So the pricing seems kinda similar to US

Edit: I found out that Internet access for companys cost alot more ..

here is a example from Song Networks

100Mbps and no transferlimit

Unlimited static IP
