Yeah it is a lot better than the old dial-up connection at home. But I don't know if it is comparable to cable or DSL speeds. Would roadrunner be faster, slower, or the same??

Chewie, those speeds are way faster than any DSL or Cable connections I have ever seen. Your school is probably running fiber, or OC3, or something of the sort.

A typical DSL connection is about 1.5/256.

A typical Cable connection is about 5/384.

But all of that data is based on location. Really nice speeds though.
