wait till they get a few more people on his node, i dont think those speeds will stay above or as close to cap, but i can always be wrong.

Yeah, there is a limit-

I rarely see a member with FIOS hit there mark either.

Probably is the nature of the beast, since the headend gear is high end/high dollar gear, and the customer premise equipment is on the cheap side.

In the case of cable modems, a cmts runs lets say around $200-300 thousand, and the cable modem in your home that transmits the upstream is around $50.

I'm sure the same is relatively true for the FTTH method.

actually, ftth (fiber to the house, i'm guessing) implies fiberoptic cable connected to you, meaning you could probably run gigabit or more on it, the assymetric connection is solely because of marketing concerns. they don't want people buying a 60 dollar connection to host stuff, so they limit speeds and or cap it. traffic on the web is expensive.
