3% on 3mb dsl

ok first off i am on a wireless card, a linksys wireless b pci adapter model# wmp11.

i know it's not gonna be as fast as the ethernet cable. but i have a laptop using wireless and it gets a lil over 100kps d/l i ger 5kps. i have tried every driver and useb cablenut tweak and nothing has helped. i am in the room right next to the wireless router and i have full signal. please help if u can. also i did everything in the sticky above. My connection also constantly disconnects and reconnects.

and i cannot get http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks to work

I am on windows xp sp1 (i know i should have sp2 but oh well)

system spec:

amd 3700 oc to 2.8ghz

1gb ocz dual channel gold

dfi laparty sli-dr

so i know my pc is not the limiting factor and no spyware cause this is a fresh instal of windows. i also use firefox oposed to ie

i also would like to add i used the cablenut tweaks version 7 junk on my laptop (only good signal  and it is getting the same speeds as my other pc connected direct to router (microsoft mn-500) the both d/l around 300kbps and upload around 40kbps, which if i could get half that with this i'd be happy. i also have moved the wireless card into a different pci slot and nothign changed.

first off, connect it directly, see if the speed has changed and if not...its your isp...

but it could be interferrence from a wireless telephone and/or microwave...

alread connected it directs and it works fine. and the telephone + microwave havent affected the laptop which i in between them and the laptop works find at the pc. and the pc is opposite side of house of those two

this isnt the actualy test but i rem about what it was. it was around 2.6mbs (we have 3mbs) and dl around 300, it's too much of a pain to move the other pc, it's in a full tower and super heavy

I don' t know much about microsoft wireless products, but give microsoft a call they should be able to help you. It might be a firmware thing.

Does it do it on any other computer?

try changing the channel of the wireless. if it's an interference problem that may help

also, you don't by chance have rebar in the wall or something of the sort?

nope it works fine on all other computers +pda, just this one has a problem. and the adapter worked fine in it's last home.

thats most likely your problem, try using channel 8-10 they are no used by Cordless phones

and i dont believe it's a prblem with the router so no since calling microsoft, i believe it's some kinda problem with the wireless card. but linksys tech support is incompetent. they have never help any of my other family members EVER. i always go over there and fix it in minutes what linksys cannot help them do in hours.

this is one that seems to be the reconnecting prblem "The configuration utilities that ship with Linksys wireless products will not install/run properly on WinXP, Linksys requires you to use the WinXP Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. One feature of WZC is that once every minute it will drop the current signal in search of a better one, resulting in constant, annoying interruptions to your online play. Thus, if you try to use Linksys wireless products for online gaming, prepare to be VERY annoyed. Otherwise, the card seems to work fine for normal web browsing."
