dn0 20 Posted August 5, 2012 CID Report Share Posted August 5, 2012 Guess I never added to this topic. I was trying to come up with a user name about 7.5 years ago with my 18 month old son sitting with me. The kid kept mashing the keyboard as I was trying to type in "danno" and it eventually came out as dn0. I just kept that username for years until I recently changed it to dann0. Now that little punk is a 9 year know it all , but love that little smart ace to death. tdawnaz and CA3LE

First I got the nick from people on IRC because I was one of the first cable internet users... then from 2000-2005 I worked for Cox Communications ... I was a cable guy for a year then was promoted... just a coincidence that I already was being called CA3LE and CA3LE6UY. mudmanc4

ArkhmAsylm 2 Posted September 19, 2012 CID Report Share Posted September 19, 2012 Mine came from the necessity of creating a username that wasn't already in use, nor over 10 characters. (Yes, it was an AOL thing, but heck, I didn't have a computer and was using my brother's Win95 machine to discover the wonders of the internets.) My (younger) brother was a comic freak and had posters all over his room. Not being able to think of anything creative that wasn't already in use, I deferred to one of his Batman posters for inspiration. The AOL username went the way of the dodo after I bought my own machine, but I decided to resurrect it in later years when I finally stopped lurking over at DSLReports and registered. mudmanc4

XANAVirus 7 Posted January 27, 2013 CID Report Share Posted January 27, 2013 Mine refers to my favorite cartoon show, called Code Lyoko. It's from France, of all places! The antagonist is the character named XANA, one of those never-seen characters. The "virus" part of my username refers to XANA's 1) ability to infect computers at an alarming rate, and 2) its AI nature of its creation. For instance, one episode, XANA infects a miltary satalite - first using the local school's antenna, then from there it infects the TV antenna, which it then takes over the satalite armed with a deadly lazer. All this in the span of a few minutes! XANA, the character, has a symbol, which is my avatar. If you're into tech and anime, you'd probably like this show too.
