Price and performance differences don't make sense

At Tigerdirect I was looking for graphics cards when I noticed this.

Most of the 128MB graphics cards are more expensive than the 256MB ones.

WTF IS GOING ON?

The 256MB is all around the better choice, what's the problem here?

And I also found a 512MB Geforce that was cheaper than a 128 or 256.... wtf?

LMFAO ROFL.

The 6200 is the WORST deal you can get.

Consider THESE if you think the 6200 is so 'great':

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133143 - PNY GeForce FX 5700

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133129 - PNY GeForce 6600 GT - for $99 (PCI-Express)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814145107 - CHAINTECH GeForce 6600 GT - for $149 (AGP)

Admit it. AGP is extinct. So be it.

One thing to add on: Just because the card has 256 MB of RAM, you must consider that the SPEED of the RAM AND/OR the GPU core *may* be slower.

Ex: a GeForce 6600NU has 256 MB of RAM (usually), BUT it has DDR1 RAM. A GeFroce 6600 GT uses GDDR3 RAM, even though it has LESS (128 MB). I would still go with the GDDR3 one, just because its faster.

Hardware manufacturers want to make you think that, but it doesn't explain why over 80% of all cards in use is still AGP.

I'm going PCI-E though, as it's nice to be different, and faster :P
