What are some good power supplies?

I am planning on building a computer in the near future and I don't know what power supplies are good and what aren't. I am planning on running a AMD Athlon 4800+ or something similar, so I will probably need a lot of juice for fans and other things. I don't know how much money I have in the bank, so just throw nice brands and models at me if you want. Thanks a lot. If I'm not being specific, I'm sorry, I'm just planning right now.

First of all is your chasis gonna be micro atx or atx... id reccomend atx because they are more common to buy power supplies for

and second of all power supplies arent very expensive UNLESS  u want the top of the line with all extras on it and crap

i personally have a micro atx because my comp came with that kind of chasis but if i  was building a comp id go with atx

If you want a powerful, high-quality, cheap power supply, this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817189003, would be your best deal.

However, if you plan on running SLI at some point or another, you'll need at least 34 amperes on your 12v rail so you'll need to pay a little more.  Enermax is a really good company and this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103512, should do extremely well.

A lot of people like Antecs, however, I'm not too big of a fan.  Their 12v rail runs a little bit low quite often.

NO NO NO, GET A EPOWER PUMA II

$46.50 AT NEW EGG.........

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817101513

you CANNOT beat that deal....i ran 2 PCIe cards on it on SLI w/a sempron that was running at 2.6GHz (1000mhz overclocked) and the 12vrail NEVER goes under 11.85, 3 dvd drives and 3 hard drives.....didnt touch it.....

if you dont want that

make sure your 12VRAILS ARE ATLEAST 20A, if you want an x2 3800, AMD recommends NOTHIGN less than 20A on the 12Vrail!!!!

If you want the best power supply money can buy get this one its a little more then everyone else was saying to use. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103924

that power supply is the only one that will go in my computer, and i love it. its rated at 480W but it will do over 550W with no problem. And its the quitest Powersupply ive ever had

And rember don't go cheap on a power supply, the more you spend that better the power supply you will get.
