Graphics card recommendation

Umm.....i kno i started a forum about this but i can not find it.

Ne ways im thinkin bout gettin a graphics card and i need some recommendation for a descent graphics card for round 100-150 dollars

here are my system specs:

384 mb of ram

120 gb hard drive

AMD athlon xp 1800

AGP 4x and PCI

a little lag may happen, but amd = gaming machines.

nvidia has always worked for me..

im running one right now in mine

depends on what you mean by -ordinary gaming-

plus almost every card will give you great performance

the price is a factor..

but compare before you buy!..

all i can say as right now.

i disagree doom3 on all high with 384mb ram, is not happening, unless u have nothing in the background running, even then it wont be smooth.

It will work its when he puts it utlra settings is when he is going to have a problem,  i have doom 3 running a 1.7ghz p4 with 512mb of ram and a geforce fx 5600 with no problem. when a game is at a resolution higher then 640x480 its all on the video card,

there is no way you can have a decent gaming machine starting out with that system - upgrading your ram will give you some boost - not a lot at all - your processor power is holding you back big time buddy - screw getting a new video card, save up some money and get something you can actually game with
