    rr really sucks i used to had verizon dsl and my speed were constast at 2.9MB but with rr they range from 100KB to 4.9MB. its not even one month i had rr and i am going back to verizon. luckily they have a special offer $29.99/mo for fios 5MB/2MB plus $50 mail in rebate and free wireless router.

    On a slightly off topic but relevant side: tampa are you aware that you can upgrade to a 10/1 speed for $10 more a month? Only requirement is having The Digital TV box.  If you do, I'd call brighthouse and see what your options are if you're looking for more speed. Or if you've already got the Digital Phone and Digital Cable, you can opt for a 15/2 plan.

    thanks for the info but i dont have digital tv box and also i recieve the discounted price for RR so i am not eligible for the next upgrade. anyways i did a speed test looks like its back to normal.

    I dont have any p2p programs installed on my pc. actually there is almost nothing on this pc just Windows XP sp2, spybot, adaware and virus scan and firewallfrom Mcaffee.

    Also on first line of tracert it says dslrouter b/c i am using my old router that i used to use for dsl connection.

    I have Roadrunner from brighthouse. its 5mb/385kb plan. sometimes i get speed like 4.8 or 4.8 which are very good but sometimes i also get speed of 500kilobits too.

    Verizon Speed Upgrade

    couple of days ago i upgraded my dsl connection from 1.5MB to 3.0/768. when i had the 1.5 mb plan my speed result accordiing to the test on this site was close to 1.5 mb but now with 3.0 mb its like 2 mbs only. i am only 2980 ft away from the verizon CO.

    Also i was wondering which stats do you guys trust most. one from this website or the one from the dsl modem. b/c my dsl modem shows something like this

        Down stream speed 3360kbits's

    upstream speed 864 kbits/s

    so whish one is more accurate.
