yea ive been running steady 4.5-4.8mbps ....i think its was my ethernet....whoops..lol well i will read the post just to see if i can increase my speed futher but its just i was really shocked wheni was running half my speed lol ...when i pluged my ethernet in fully there was a huge difference.i might even buy a new ethernet ..i replace my cords about every 7/8 months...is that good to replace cords that often? thanks for your help comp,your great at this stuff. P.s i might even just buy a new pc i have owned this pc for about 2 years and it is an awesome pc but im looking for more speed...lol this pc is only a P2 but it is as quick as a brand new pc.(its faster than a brand new dell P3...trust me i tested it lol)do you have any suggestions as to where i can buy a good cheap laptop? thanks a bunch...peace

;)sweet dude i ran that ccleaner thing...and cleaned out my pc....then rebooted. my speeds increased to like 1.8Mbps-2.2mbps.... but then i remember messing with my ethernet cords since i just had gotten a new wireless router and so i unplugged my pc ethernet pluged it back in and ran test and now im running 4.4mbps.......sry for wasting ur time....if this is just by luck i will come back to you.you are very patient with me, thanks....new results :::.. i dont know how to uninstall my NIC driver. what does that do? is it easy and is it nessecary to have a NIC driver to run and save data?

ok im supposed to be running 4mbps and uploads of 387........so i think there is a major problem

um ok my cable modem is a webstar by scientific atlantis.i was looking into buying a $60 motorolla modem but never got around to it. as for programs.....none ... i do not use any programs or tweaking programs for my computer....but ......i am running cable into my modem which is then sent to my wireless g d-link router.its a 2.4GHz g54 wireless router($60.00) and it is connected to my ps2(online socom 3) and pc at the same time but like i said im not using the wireless feature both my pc and ps2 are running ethernet cords.which i know are brand new ethernet cords...and is getting really low connection speeds...i will find my ISP's Caps for you...ASAP

um actually to be totally honest im not sure...but it says im running about 43% of my host average....
