I use to have a big problem with a download speed... phoned ISP got that sorted but now it's stupid pings. On games where I should have a ping of about 50 I have 200+. How do I lower ping rates?
-
Yeah it's my default aswell, don't use it though loli use both...ff is my default browser tho...i like them both...i just have less problems with ff...
-
Dude that's just wrong, internet explorer has many errors. It has many black holes in it and Microsoft won't evolve it as they think it is pointless. Firefox is evolved and it has near no black holes, I use IE as firefox isn't my cup of tea even though I admit it's better.well cry me a river. like i care if the users of some third party cobbled together by a bunch of people that microsoft didn't want working for them so they decided they were so cool and would write their own stuff and give it away for free browser can't see it right. it's not like windows doesn't come with a perfectly fine and free browser right out of the box.

I damn know!!! I've been trying to find out what the matter is for ages! and it lead to thisFAPPED!
or rather
FUPPED!
that sucks.
-
I've found out what the matter is, the ISP has a Fair Usage Policy and apparently I fall into the 'over usage' and I share bandwith with other people during peak!!!!!lol. not you.; the person i quoted.
anywho. if you connect to the modem w/o the router, does the speed stay stable?
-
Not really... connection speed still messing me aboutnag nag nag.
happy now?
-
Yeah.. they don't look like linkshey resop...this has nothing to do with this subject...but did u know that it's really hard to tell that there are two links in ur sig...the emerald green highlite kinda overtakes the blue text...maybe use different colors and maybe add some text to tell folks what the links r for...just a thought...
-
Nope, using a LAN cableAre you using a wireless connection?
-
my router dropped my connection again even with the new cables .. maybe its something from the router..
-
Tryed that now, did nothing at all.. I'm so confused!i had a similar problem where with use of most bandwidth of the internet line, my router would just stop working.. i changed the cable that connects the modem to the router and for a couple of days, my internet is fine (no disconnections).. since your internet speed drops and comes back up, maybe its something with the hardware or cables.. have u tried leaving the router off for a couple of hours and then seeing what the speeds are?
-
My computer was going fine... but at about 6 o'clock everynight my interenet speed drops... I know it's a prime time and everyone is online but dropping from 230kbps to 27kbps is quite alot... Cana nyone help me?

The theoretical network limit is 0.24 Mbps
The NDT server has a 8192.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 184.20 Mbps
Your PC/Workstation has a 250.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 5.64 Mbps
The network based flow control limits the throughput to 0.35 Mbps

That ok?

My advertised is 2mbps and i'm connecting through a NetGear router... I've tried my hardest to get this to it's advertised speed but nothing I do works = THanks for your help if you help me!

I'm using Windows XP and I have SP2 installed with the patch, I'm connected with a NetGear router and it has the newest firmware. My ISP is Tiscali and the advertised speed is 2272 Kbps downstream and 288 Kbps upstream.

This is really low, advertised is over 2 meg and it's working at half a meg.

This is right so no need to edit upstream.
