1. I'm running Win 98 SE on a 400 MHz, 64 MB desktop (it's 5 years old)
2. I have Comcast cable internet, advertised download speed is 3.0 Mbps.
3. Modem is a Motorola SB4100 Cable Modem
4. I don't have any tweak programs installed.
5. I connect my modem via an ethernet (NIC) card.
6. I don't have any spyware or viruses.
I ran the testmy.net test after shutting down all programs on my computer. Comcast came over to test my connection, and the cable guy tested my connection on his laptop and got 2.0 Mbps on the testmy.net test, but over 3.0 Mbps on his laptop on the test on the Comcast website, so maybe my computer or modem is causing the problem?
