Yeah it is slow compared to the major broadband cable providers and way overpriced. They had 3 packages: 256K, 512K, and 1MB.

Yeah, I know I am getting reamed on the price. The reason for the downgrade is that I moved from my apartment in Dallas to a suburb of Dallas, and this is the only company that provides broadband service to the complex besides DSL and I don't want a phone line.

I pay 49.95 a month for 1MB/512KB.

From what I understand, it is not a hard thing to do, but I could have read wrong. Regardless I will stick with the GT and not go for the GTX.

I will be using XP Pro until x64 gets better support. Mostly will be used for gaming/music/video/general fun.

I am building a computer and wanted you guys to tell me what you think. Everything is still up in the air except the case, which I already have. The video card will be the last thing I buy. The overclocking will all be done on air cooling, and I don't plan to go water anytime soon. I will run it basically stock for awhile and then turn it up a bit, but not too much. I wanted something more stable and with less headaches. Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor (Venice) - Seems to be at a good price point for me, and I can overclock to 3800+, etc. speeds. Memory - OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory - I am going to stick with the 1GB for now and not get another 1GB until I feel I really need it. Video Card - eVGA Geforce 7800GT 256-P2-N515-AX Desktop PC - Overclocked to GTX speeds. Harddrive - 1x Western Digital Raptor 74GB 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - I will use my current 120GB WD for storage.

I am pretty sure she told me 1MB. They had three package starting at 256K, 512K, and then the 'professional' at 1MB down and 1MB up. From their website: We provide a 1Mb symmetrical connection, which is much faster than other broadband providers who only offer around 256K

I am moving in a month and the apartment complex has BDRBroadband and they only offer a 1MB download connection. Sucks so bad.
