One more thing that I didn't do. I didn't give the detailed stats from the nitro test with no tweaks, so this is is. No packet loss, but I don't know how to fix the ordering and the receive buffer.

I've found that most pings between 160 and 220 give very similar results, although at 180 things run smoother so I'll just leave it at that right now. Its more stable and I upload faster now,, which is great. Still drop 18 packets, but that's all the lower it seems to go. Thanks a lot.

Also if anyone could help me with the actual networking portion. It was suggested that on cable you be running a 10mb half duplex connection, but I don't know how to change that. The default seems to be 100mb. Thanks again.

Cable finally came to my area recently, and I want to get the most out of it that I can. I know I don't have any serious problems, but that doesn't mean it can't get a little better.
1. Windows XP Professional with SP2 integrated
2. Adelphia PowerLink, 3000kbps/256kbps
3. Currently have Cablenut with VanBuren's v3 3000/256 tweaks installed. I have numbers for without the tweaks as well as with.
(No tweaks)

Receive buffer?
in Make it Faster...
Posted
I just ran the http://nitro.ucsc.edu/ and I got the following message:
"Information: The receive buffer should be 140.27099609375 Kbytes to maximize throughput"
How do I increase the buffer? I'll actually be tweaking more once I find out my new advertised speeds for Adelphia which I think will end up being 4000/384, but now I don't want to mess with too much. Thanks.
