I 'm really sorry to bother you once again but i'm getting pretty desperate. I ran these tests several times during the last few days and only twice this morning did I see good results like the above. Though they obviously show the potential of the connection they do not correspond to the truth. The truth is that i d/l with an average of 12 kB/s from p2p while others get as high as 37-40 with the same connection/different isp, and from servers at around 15-20 kB/s (again everyone else seems to have better speeds).
Also online gaming is out of the question (which i suppose is not a matter of download speed but i describe the whole problem) even with servers which are located no more than 3 km far from where i live. Playing counterstrike with a latency of 300 ms is a joke, and a bad one.
Sorry for my getting out of the subject and for my petty whining but i could use some help.
My questions are if and how can I identify what causes the problem and if you can tell me specific questions I should ask my isp when I call them tomorrow.
P.S. Additional Information:
I setup the connection and the router according to the router's manual (US Robotics 9105) and portforward.com.
Tested the ports and where ok. System configuration Athlon 64 3500+,1GB ram,Nvidia GeForce 6600GT. The possibility of a virus is unlikely because the HD was formatted recently and the pc wasn't connected to the internet for some time.
