Latest ping tests, almost midnight and im the only one on my internet:

15 packets transmitted, 15 packets received, 0% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 2399.692/2902.983/3379.106/284.965 ms

Well, ive talked to my ISP and they said they checked the lines and everything and they said its not there side but they put a trouble ticket in anyways. So im hoping its resolved soon because its not fun having it fast for like an hour then slow the next few.

Alright, i pinged the second ip when i did a traceroute and this was the result of the ping test i just took:

15 packets transmitted, 12 packets received, 20% packet loss

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 682.595/1198.592/2040.641/456.211 ms

How do i ping the wifi station?

Yes and still terrible speeds. Right now, im hitting 1500ms avg ping times. Dead of night, almost no one on the tower or anything like that and im getting extremely crappy ping times.

I run on a mac so that wont work. Ive been continuing to call tech support and what not. Thing is(im 18), its under my dads name and he doesn't really care much about it as long as loading a page is faster. Im only concerned because its running at 20-40% out of 100%. Im mainly concerned about getting that fixed

Ok, ive called tech support and talked to them and told them my situation. They told me that my speeds will be a little bit slower when more people are using the cell phone tower. The thing is, I live in an area where there really isnt that many people at all and all day today i was pinging some sites and the whole morning i was getting ping times between 1500ms-6000ms. When people are using their cell phones it shouldnt have This much of an effect on my speeds. A co-worker of mine uses the same thing, peak hours he experience little to no speed loss at all. Anyone have anyway of helping with this situation?

I just switched from Starband satellite internet to Centennial myBlue wireless internet. Surfing web pages is alot faster and so far the ping times i have been getting are better but have also been worse. Heres the results from my speed test

Ive been getting inbetween 1kb/s - 25k/s since i got the new internet. It is wireless but the signal strength is 4/5 bars(havent really taken the time to find where it gets 5/5 bars). All i would like is to beable to download at the speed it says my average is. If anyone can help at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Ughh! Im tired of satalite internet. Verizon already supplys the whole town i live by with dsl. Im only about 5 miles away from where i can get dsl so why dont they just get it out here?! If anyone knows where i could possibly find out when i will be able to get dsl(like a specific time) Please pm me.

I hope FiOS comes to Michigan. I will be happy if all of Van Buren county can get it in the next few months if possible. I would be so happy to get rid of satalite and beable to play online games  and surf the web when its not snowing or raining! So im ganna be praying!

Ok, so its not my cpu fan, its my powerbox fan thats making the weird noise. Ive cleaned it out and everything, but its still making the noise. What do i do?

Well the thing is, cable or dsl does not reach me. Even though im only about 7-8 miles from town and live on a street off a major highway, you would think they would run cable or dsl to us, they dont so i guess im stuck with my very slow connection till i can get cable to dsl. Maybe your right resopalrabotnick, maybe i should clean it off and repoint it, it hasent been cleaned or fixed in anyway and the wind around here has been very strong(50-60mph gusts).

Ok, thanks. But i actually think its time to build a new computer. Its been about 2 years and the stuff i have is kinda out dated and i could use a new cpu. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Hello, ive been a Starband user for over three years now. At first i thought the internet i had was fast untill dsl and cable internet came around and got faster and faster while satalite internet got slower and slower. So, i was wondering, i havent changed my dish in over the three years ive had it. Would getting a new satalite dish speed up my internet at all?

I opened up my pc and when i opened it, i was amazed at all the dust in it. I blew most of it away and it hasent been making the humming noise anymore. I knew it was something with the fan i just wanted to make sure. Thanks for your help anyway.

I dont know if this goes here but heres my problem. After about thirty minutes of my computer being on, it starts to make this really loud humming noise. I dont know what it is, if you could help me i would really appreciate it.
